BEERS’ True Blues, Kingshill LOL 319 are holding an Ulster Covenant historical lecture and exhibition to celebrate the centenary of Ulster’s Solemn League and Covenant.

The exhibition will be on display from tonight (Thursday) between 8-10pm, while a historical lecture will take place among the memorabilia exhibition tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm.

Guest speaker will be Dr David Hume, the renowned Ulster Historian from Larne.

A selection of unique items will be on display, including a souvenir Ulster Covenant Holy Bible, which may possibly be the smallest in existence, a Home Rule Ceramic Bowl, Home Rule clay pipe, Covenant parchments from Ulster Day, an original Women’s Declaration, period images and also the chance to view the signatories who signed in Waringstown on Ulster Day in 1912.

In addition, some rarely viewed digital images from Ulster Day will also be shown.

Also a very limited number of specially commissioned Covenant Centenary badges remain and these will be available on the evening priced at £2 each.

The event is free and a warm welcome awaits everyone. Supper will also be provided after the Friday evening event.

Venue is Kingshill Orange Hall, Clare Road, Waringstown. This event has been kindly supported by the Ulster-Scots Agency and organised in conjunction with Kingshill Community Development Association.
