FEMALE members of the Springwell Running Club are preparing for the Purple Ladies 5k event on Wednesday 15 May at 7.30pm from the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney.
The run is open to all ladies over the age of 14 years old and covers a distance of 5K (approximately 3 miles).
This event gives all ladies the chance to run, jog or walk at their own pace around the route as Springwell Running Club are aiming to raise the profile of female sport and promote health and fitness in the area.
It is hoped that this is to be a fun event. There will be a fun warm-up by a qualified fitness instructor to get everyone motivated at the start line with marshals positioned around the course to encourage you!
Registration is available in the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre from 6.00pm on Wednesday 15 May. Entry fees are £6 (affiliated) or £8 (unaffiliated) and there is a Technical T-shirt for the first 200 entries.
There are prizes for the first three ladies across the line and the winners in all age categories. There will also be some spot prizes.
There will be stalls set up from 6.00pm promoting health and beauty. These stalls include aromatherapy massage, reflexology, beauty treatments, and nutrition. They will be only too happy to give advice and also provide a little bit of pampering if desired!
After the run there will be a chance to talk to fellow runners and members of Springwell Running Club whilst enjoying some post-race refreshments.
We would like to thank our sponsors GES GROUP, CAUSEWAY ROUTE 2 FITNESS, FLASH IN THE PAN (Bushmills) and BALLYMONEY SPORTS ADVISORY GROUP for their continued support.
