The NI Holstein Young Breeders’ Club is hosting a clipping and showing demonstration this Wednesday, July 16th commencing at 7pm.

The event will take place at the Henry family’s Mostragee herd based at 17 Ballykenver Road, Stranocum, BT53 8PZ.

Throughout the evening members will have an opportunity to learn about the finer points of preparing an animal for the showring. Mentors will be demonstrating how to wash, clip and handle dairy cattle.

Showmanship technique will also come under the spotlight.

HYB co-ordinator Andrew Kennedy said: “Everyone is welcome. The event has been organised to give members a chance to perfect their skills ahead of the HYB’s annual calf show at Moira on 23rd August.

“It promises to be an educational and informative evening, and I would urge novice and experienced showmen and women to come along and join in.”
