Christmas cheer
The gifts were handed over by the President of the town’s Chamber of Commerce, Mrs Winifred Mellett, to volunteers Grace Hartin and Florence Jackson at Open Door’s new premises 32 Main Street last Tuesday.
The hampers were donated by the Millside Restaurant, Cloughmills, who also provided similar gifts to the Centre last year which were also passed on to a number of under privileged families.

“Last year’s hampers were very well received and to be able to do the same this year will bring a smile to many young people,” Florence said.
Mrs Mellett thanked the Millside for their generosity and praised the work of the Open Door in helping many people in the Borough in a number of positive ways.
“We all know how people can come here to avail of a number of services and volunteers depend greatly on donations such as been given by Millside. It’s worth remembering that Open Door is self-funding,” she said.
The Open Door welcomes people from all backgrounds and works with people with learning difficulties, disabled, people who are lonely and/or depressed.
