Cash boost for local community groups

BALLYMONEY Borough Council has awarded 17 Community Support Grants.

Applications were made by:

I.Glebeside Youth Football Club for assistance towards cost of transport for Summer Football Competitions.

II.Glebe - B – Tots for assistance towards the cost of equipment.

III.Japanese Cultural Centre for assistance towards the cost of a Display and Training Day.

IV.Dunloy Accordian Band for assistance towards the cost of equipment.

V.Ballymoney Branch of the Royal British Legion for assistance towards a Christmas event.

VI.Dervock Presbyterian Church PW for assistance towards a Pamper Evening and Health Check.

VII.North Antrim Bands Forum for assistance towards the cost of equipment.

VIII.Northern Ireland Gloster Fancy Club for assistance towards their Annual Show.

IX.North Antrim Cultural & Musical Society for assistance towards a Cultural and Historical Trip to Belfast.

X.Ballymoney Evergreen Club for assistance towards a visit to the Ulster Orchestra and James Galway Concert.

XI.Ballinagarvey Flute Band for assistance towards a Senior Citizens Christmas Event.

XII.Ballymoney Branch of the Royal British Legion Women’s Section for assistance towards a day trip to Lisburn.

XIII.Northern Ireland Fife Fancy Canary Club for assistance towards its 21st Annual Show.

XIV.Dunloy Development Association for assistance towards a day trip to the Titanic Centre, Belfast.

XV.Dervock & District Community Association for assistance towards Joint Olympic Torch and Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations Events.

XVI.Dunaghy Flute Band for assistance towards a day trip to the Somme Heritage Centre.

XVII.Cramsie Court Residents Association for assistance towards a day trip for Senior Citizens.

It was agreed at a recent council meeting that 16 applications (I) to (XV1) are granted £200 each and that one application (XVII) is granted £195.
