Finvoy YFC completed yet another busy summer within the YFCU and are ready to kick off their winter programme which ensures that they won’t be getting bored.
Finvoy YFC kicked of the summer by helping organise and enable the smooth running of Ballymoney Show, although the weather wasn’t on their side this year, a great day for local agriculture was had.
A number of YFCU events throughout the summer were attended by Finvoy including the John Bradley challenge which tooj the form of fancy dress volleyball on the East Strand in Portrush. Finvoy member and YFCU president also launched his charity campaign to celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the YFCU entitled ’85 Skydiving ypung farmers for 85 years’.
A brave Andreena McCurdy from Finvoy YFC took up the challenge and completed the skydive with all proceeds going to the fields of life charity.
A total of £31,000 was raised by the YFCU for this worthy charity which will enable a school to be built to train young farmers in Uganda and also to allow the development of water wells to supply clean drinking water to the community.
A massive congratulations to Martyn and his team for achieving this fantastic amount of money for a brilliant, deserving charity.
If you would be interested in joining Finvoy YFC, meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month and they would love to welcome you on board to join in the many experiences which can only be had as a member of the YFCU.
