ROYAL Irish Regiment Musicians performed a 90th Birthday Concert in honour of HM The Queen at Ballymoney Town Hall recently.
The concert, which raised £2,300 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, featured a number of the Queen’s favourite songs from musicals such as “Oklahoma”.
The audience, which included Lord Lieutenant Mrs Joan Christie OBE, was impressed by the musical programme, which included an arrangement of Snow Patrol’s “Run”. ABF The Soldiers’ Charity joined forces with the Band Bugles and the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Irish Regiment, to perform the fundraising concert.
Speaking at the launch of the concert Mayor, Michelle Knight-McQuillan said: “It is an honour for myself both as Mayor and Borough Veterans’ Champion to be invited to attend the celebration of the Queen’s 90th Birthday and support a fabulous charity.”
The Band will also be supporting ABF again on Saturday, May 7 at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall for a Somme Centenary Concert. Ballymoney residents are most welcome and tickets are available by calling 02890 334455.
