Five members of Kilraughts Young Farmers Club, Hannah Kirkpatrick, Amy Kirkpatrick, Diane Ramsay, Erinn Ramsay and Claire Ramsay, took part in the girls 5-a-side football competition. The girls won all their matches during the heats which took place at Greenmount College, this ensured them a place in the finals at Balmoral Show. At Balmoral the girls played 3 tough games to get in to the finals where they faced Randalstown Young Farmer. Again this was a challenging game however, good teamwork from Kilraughts ended with Diane Ramsay scoring the winning goal before the final whistle.
On Thursday at Balmoral, Kilraughts boys: David Jamison, Jonny Bartlett, Paul Bartlett, Ricky Elliot, Colin Henry and Ryan Millar took part in a very popular tug of war competition, in total 35 teams took part. Kilraughts showed great determination but were unfortunate not to get through to the finals.
