The Girls’ Brigade and Boys’ Brigade companies raised an amazing £631.13 for a local children’s cancer charity at their Enrolment Service in Ballywatt Presbyterian Church.

The GB chose to donate the offering to NICFC in memory of Darren Moore, who is sadly missed by his BB friends.

His former Junior Boys’ Brigade officer paid tribute to him:

“Darren was a very popular and keen BB boy, well-turned out in his uniform every Friday night.

“He enthusiastically joined in with all the activities and always gave his best.”

This money will help the country’s leading children’s cancer charity, NICFC, to continue to provide practical, emotional and financial support to local families affected by cancer.

It will also go towards the charity’s brand new Daisy Lodge short break centre being built in County Down.

When completed later this spring, the charity will be able to offer free short breaks for up to 500 families per year affected

by cancer.
