Ballymoney U3A will be holding their monthly meeting on January 5th 2016 at 11am in the Old Court House building in Charlotte Street. Refreshments and enrolments will be available from 10.30am.

Rose Marie, U3A Regional Trustee, will be coming along to present the official Membership Certificate to the new group in Ballymoney. Considering that, this time last year, the idea of a Ballymoney U3A was still only an idea being discussed by two people, this presentation gives some measure of the success of the new U3A in 2015.

The speaker at the 5th January main meeting will be Wilma Erskine, a native of Ballymoney, who has been the secretary/manager at the Royal Portrush Golf Club for 31 years.

In her talk she will consider her experiences as ‘A Woman in a Man’s World’. Now aged 57, she was recently awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) for her services to Northern Ireland tourism and golf.

She studied Business Studies in Edinburgh and Bristol. Before Royal Portrush, she managed Portadown and Massereene Golf Clubs.
