The monthly speakers at the Ballymoney U3A on Tuesday, April 4th will be Pearl Hutchinson speaking about Storytelling and Jackie and Sam Cochrane about the charity SMILES, which works in Romania.

Refreshments are available from 10.30am and the main meeting starts at 11am.

The Gardening Group visited the new home of the Revs John and Frances Bach near the Dark Hedges on March 23.

Sam Cochrane, Group Leader, said: “I know that I speak for all of us when I say a big thank you to John and Frances for their kindness and hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of your garden and the welcome cups of tea/coffee and cakes afterwards. What a lovely setting for a house and garden!”

All retired and semi retired people are welcome to join the U3A. The membership is £15 a year with a charge from £5 for each activity (depending how often they meet and charges for a room if required). Refreshments are £1 for each meeting. Group activities include creative writing, gardening, golf, photography and bridge among other topics.”
