Ballymoney represented at energy briefing event

THE Ballymoney area was represented at a briefing for businesses given by firmus energy.

Mr Paul Lyness of Ballymoney Borough Council attended the recent ‘Energy Market Briefing’ for natural gas and electricity customers.

The breakfast event, which took place in Antrim, saw around 60 of firmus energy’s larger customers which included Councils, schools, colleges and universities, health trusts and major industrial clients, such as Seagate, Wrightbus and Kingspan, gather to hear a global economic review from University of Ulster economist, Mike Smyth.

Guests were also given an overview of home fuel markets and the energy market outlook going forward.

Michael Scott, Acting General Manager for firmus energy, commented: “With fuel prices remaining volatile, Mike Smyth’s address on global markets was extremely timely as costs are impacted by many worldwide factors, from natural disasters to political instability within fuel-rich countries.

“In these tough economic times, all businesses, whether they are a small takeaway, an industrial user with multiple sites, a school or a health care provider, are watching their bottom line. When it comes to utility prices and services, customers want to deal with a company that can deliver competitive prices and innovation along with first-class service.

“Our experienced trading team coupled with the purchasing power of our parent company, Bord Gais, which has more than one million customers across Ireland, means that we have in the past and will continue to offer customers extremely competitive prices – regardless of their size or energy usage.

“We have never had a formal complaint lodged against us with the Consumer Council. This is a true testament to our highly skilled customer care team and the training we offer to ensure these high standards are maintained. Delivering a consistently high level of customer service is fundamental to our business ethos and that is why all our employees are trained to meet individual customer needs.”
