Man was lying '˜half out' of vehicle

A man who hit the drink after splitting with his girlfriend took his sister's car and was later found '˜lying half out' of the vehicle in Ballymoney.

Coleraine Magistrates Court was told Ciaran Liam Connor (23), of Glentaisie Drive, Ballycastle, had an alcohol/breath reading of 95 - the legal limit is 35 - when discovered on June 26 this year.

A defence lawyer said the defendant had a “major argument” with his girlfriend of two years and they split up earlier that day. The defendant pleaded guilty to driving whilst unfit; taking a vehicle without authority and being uninsured and unlicensed. The defendant was given a four months jail term, suspended for three years; banned for three years and fined £200.
