Ballymoney fire ‘not arson’

Following a more detailed examination of the scene, police in Ballymoney now believe that a house fire in the Hamilton Park area of the town in the early hours of Saturday was not started deliberately.

Shortly after 4:30am, it was reported that a fire had started at a house in the area. No one was believed to have been injured. It is also believed that a female and a young child managed to escape from a neighbouring house in the area, and are not believed to have been injured as a result of the incident.

A number of homes were also evacuated in the area as a result of the fire.
