There is a strong north Antrim contingent in the forthcoming production of “Sister Act the Musical” by Portrush Music Society.
For the cast of over 60 boasts members from Ballymoney, Ballycastle and Bendooragh among its ranks.
“Sister Act the Musical” is based on the Whoopi Goldberg film in which she plays a nightclub singer who witnesses a gangland murder.
For her own protection, the police hide the unwilling witness in the Queen of Angels convent in Philadelphia - much to the annoyance of the Mother Superior and the utter joy of the convent sisters.
The hard-working cast has been in rehearsal for a number of months now and it includes Ballymoney mother and daughter team Edel and Niamh Devlin, Bendooragh woman Andie Lyons and Ballycastle man Fr Rory Sheehan.
Portrush Music Society’s production - which is a Northern Ireland premiere - takes to the stage of the Riverside Theatre in Coleraine on April 25th.
