Having previously raised funds towards the purchase of a shelter box, Rotary Club of Ballycastle members were delighted to receive news that their emergency aid package has been deployed for use in Pakistan to assist those affected by flooding.

Through the tireless work of aid agencies and response team volunteers, the distribution of this vital equipment is targeted to where it is most in demand and with each box possessing a unique ID number; its whereabouts can be tracked online.

Ballycastle President, Sean McKinley states “Thanks to the generosity of local people, we are, in some small way, able to alleviate the suffering of a family when they need it most. The beauty of Rotary is that we help not only those known to us but also those we will never meet. “
