Ballycastle brunch raises over £1,500

BALLYCASTLE local committee for Cancer Research UK recently held their second fundraising “brunch” and would like to thank everyone who supported the venture and helped to raise more than £1,500.

The atmosphere was buzzing and friendly banter took place on all sides.

The quiche, salads, pancakes, bacon butties, soups, wheaten bread and scones all met with approval and rapidly disappeared.

To date, £1,500 is the magnificent result of hard work put in by committee and friends.

Grateful thanks to the Presbyterian Church for the use of the kitchen and hall, The Girls’ Brigade were so helpful in setting up the tables on the previous night.

The latest recruit from headquarters Mark McMahon came to lend his support and to see how things were done and the committee hopes that he enjoyed his trip to Ballycastle.

“Many, many thanks to all who travelled a distance to help us reach this remarkable total and with so many demands on pockets these days it is wonderful that people still support us. Thank you!” said a spokesperson.
