It’s flower show time again in Ballymoney!
This year’s event takes place on Saturday and is the 85th annual effort promoted by North Antrim Horticultural Association at St. Patrick’s Parish Centre, Queen Street.
The venue is capable of staging many more exhibits than the usual entry. The fee is a mere 20 pence per exhibit and there are almost 200 classes covering all sections of gardening, aw well as home industries and painting.
In most sections, first time exhibitors (novices) have a special classification all to themselves. There will be 30 trophies to be won.
Bring your entries along on the Friday night between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. or prior to judging on the Saturday morning between 8.30 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Visitors and exhibitors will be admitted from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is £2 with accompanied children free and the proceeds of this year’s show will be donated to the Alzheimers Society.
Teas will be served in a minor hall during the afternoon by members of Ballymoney Women’s Institute.
The show will be officially opened at 2.30 p.m. by Paula McIntyre who will distribute the prizes.
