An exciting exhibition of new work by local artist Derek Ferguson-Smith has just opened in Ballymoney Museum.

Entitled “Alpha – A Question of Answers”, the exhibition features new works by Derek which are his creative response to attending an Alpha Course run over 12 weeks at the Brown Trout Golf and Country Club Inn, Aghadowey in 2012.

The Alpha Course is a series of interactive sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian Faith, sometimes under the banner: Got Questions? - Try Alpha. Within the exhibition there are a range of sculptures made mostly from wood.

Derek Ferguson-Smith graduated from the University of Belfast BA Hon’s Fine Art Degree Course in 1989. Derek has produced sculptures in a variety of mediums over the years, and is a passionate supporter of Autism Awareness and in particular Asperger’s in adults.

“Alpha – A Question of Answers” is on display in Ballymoney Museum at Ballymoney Town Hall until Saturday 1 November. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 9am-5pm and Friday 9am until 4.30pm. Admission is free.
