TWO north Antrim homeowners have come up with a novel way of defying the stagnant property market in an attempt to sell their houses.
While the market has shown signs of recovery in the past couple of months it remains one of the hardest periods in the last couple of decades to sell property.

However two more entrepreneurial individuals have adopted an innovative approach to the problem which will see their homes go under the hammer in the next couple of months.

Minium reserves placed on the properties mean those taking part in the unique auction could pick up the keys to either for just over £20.
The scheme is the subject of a B.B.C. 2 programme, Property Watch, which will be screened on May 12. The B.B.C. will be looking at properties which are in desirable areas, and should do well, but are not moving at present.

Both houses (right) are in excellent locations. One is situated in Balnamore and the other is on the outskirts of Cushendall, overlooking the Causeway Coast Road, and vith views to the mountains and sea.
Both owners have put their homes on a new website www.humraz.com, which allows people to 'buy seats' at an auction for the houses. When all the seats have been sold, to cover the cost of the property, plus all fees and charges, including legal and stamp duty, then the auction begins. There is no charge for the auction bids as the bidders have already paid for the 'seat'.

The house will go to the lowest unique bid. This means that bidders will have the opportunity to get one of these excellent properties in Co Antrim for as little as £23.
In addition two charities will benefit from these house sales. The Greenlight Gateway charity in Ballycastle will be the recipient of 2.5% of the sale . This charity provides work ad training opportunities for young people with learning difficulties.

The four-bed house, with stunning sea and mountain views in Cushendall has a 'seat' price of £35.
The three-bed house in Balnamore has a 'seat' fee of just £23.
Biders on the humraz site get 100 bids for their money.
