Gareth and Lindsay's perfect end to their wedding - a fortnight later!

WHEN newly-weds Lindsay McCook and Gareth Boyd got married a fortnight ago, the last thing they wanted was rain to spoil their enjoyment.
Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do about a downpour at The Hedges Restaurant, near Armoy, which forced the abandonment on a horse and carriage ride along the famous Trees.
The transport had been part of the wedding package supplied by The Hedges management the aim of which was to add a little extra to the proceedings.
Realising the disappointment of the couple, The Hedges generously brought back the horse and carriage on Sunday and asked Lindsay and Gareth if they would come in their bridal wear and re-live the occasion.
The torrential rain on Saturday left The Hedges management peering anxiously towards the sky on Sunday morning for dark clouds, but they needn't have worried.
The sun shone, the bride looked radiant and the gleaming mode of transport supplied by Knockaphort Carriages, based in Toome, with two attendants, Deirdre and Jane McCoy, in tow, gave Lindsay and Gareth the perfect end to their marriage package.
The carriage, an authentic model from the Victorian era, was pulled along by a magnificent white horse and drew plenty of admiring glances not only from those at The Hedges but dozens of tourists who happened to be at the trees taking pictures.
Photographs were taken not only by a photographer supplied by Shaun and Aldith McCook of The Hedges, but by the tourists who thought it a novel sight to see tranport from a bygone era at such a picturesque spot.
Twenty-six-year-old Lindsay who is the daughter of Maurice and Emma McCook, from Ballybogey, now lives with her husband near Bendooragh where she runs 'Coo Cards' specialising in wedding stationery.
Gareth, aged 25, is an architect in Ballymoney.
Mr. Shaun McCook from The Hedges said: "Although it was no one's fault, we felt we had to do something for the couple and we were delighted when Knockaphort Carriages agreed to return.
"The weather was a worry on the Saturday, but everything turned out fine."
The Hedges are making the horse and carriage available, if desired, to any married couple holding their reception at The Hedges.
