MOYLE police are on target with regards increasing the number of persons reported for careless and dangerous driving.
According to new police figures, ‘there has been an increase’ in crimes recorded which rose by 91.7% from 12 during April to September 2008 to 23 from the same period this year.

Addressing the Moyle area’s six month District Policing Partnership report, John Magill, Area Commander explained: “From the report you can see that there has been an increase in the number of persons caught for careless and dangerous driving. Police continue to identify and report for prosecution those responsible for such driving. The community must also assist the police in identifying those who drive in a careless or dangerous manner as it is difficult securing evidence where drivers are breaking the law.

“Specific operations have taken place over recent months and officers continue to patrol and carry out various tactics to catch the culprits.”

He added: “Having a good relationship with the public in Moyle helps us to go about our daily business and reach such important targets.”
