MCAFEE Auctions last Antique and Fine Furnishing Sale created a lot of interest and although numbers in the room due to the exceptionally good evening were slightly down, there was increased telephone bidding with sometimes up to 3, 4 and 5 bidders on the phone for particular lots.
One of the surprising results of the evening was the price paid for a Beswick Cow and Calf ‘Eaton Wild Eyes’ and its calf which realised £620, again strong phone and room bidding, with the phone bidder eventually claiming the prize. Demand was also strong for other Beswick figurines throughout the evening, but the ‘Eaton Wild Eyes’ was the one to watch.
