Peter Pan - a standing ovation!

AS the curtain closed to a second full house and a standing ovation on the evening of Friday 7th December at Ballymoney High School, the production team, cast and all those involved in the production of “Peter Pan” should be extremely proud and content that the audience enjoyed every minute of the show.

A magical performance was what we were promised and this production certainly delivered.

From the fantastic set and costumes to the excellent music and choreography this was a production that the school should be very proud of. Peter, who was played superbly by Aaron McAuley did fly and credit must go to the production team for pulling this off.

The audience were entranced by the magical characters in front of them. Kelita Hutchinson played the role of Wendy confidently and Brandon Lyons was perfect in his portrayal of dastardly Captain Hook. Warren McCook and Hannah Smyth gave very fine performances in their roles of Smee and Mr Darling respectively.

The main cast were ably supported by a talented troop of pirates, Indians and Lost boys who were obviously enjoying themselves as much on stage as we were watching them. A unique feature of the school’s productions is the musical talent so often displayed in their choir and this was very much reflected in a delightful chorus who had the audience tapping in time to the music.

With the Darling children safely returned to their London home, the show concluded with a very satisfied audience eagerly anticipating what next year’s production could be.
