Council to help out at Salmon and Whiskey festival

MOYLE District Council have agreed to provide services and facilities to the Bushmills Traders Association Community Group for the forthcoming Salmon and Whiskey Fstival.

The festival takes place at the latter part of September and a request has been made by the Traders Association for assistance.

This would involve the use of council land.

In a report prepared by council officers, it was stated that whilst staff would be able to help in the form of advice, it would not have the capacity or resources to provide actual staffing for community events.

However, Technical Services may be able to assist in any clean up, provision of bins, etc.

Council officers confirmed that they would also be able to continue to help on other issues such as Health and Safety and risk assessments.

They also agreed to marketing, poster details of the event and general publicity, this could be publicised on the council’s webiste and at the Tourist Information Centre.

The council agreed to help subject to insurance documents and risk assessments being received prior to the event.
