Sir, In response to an article in your paper last week regarding an irate Cloughmills man, can i just say first that I was that irate man that spoke to Radio Ulster.
First of all let me put the record straight. For anyone who heard the interview, they will be aware that I did not condemn Ballymoney Borough Council in any way. What I in fact did do was commend the council for the way they treated this problem in the past.

I congratulated the Orange Order and their organisers for the way the parade was handled.

What I did condemn was the food vans who move into the area on these occasions and do not supply bins to curtail the litter problem that occurs on nights like this.

I also condemed the people who use these vans, then sit in their cars and throw their rubbish out their windows instead of using the bins provided in the village by the council.

These are not local people and I would have no doubt that they wouldn’t do it in their own villages or towns.

So just to finish by saying that the council on this occasion were commended and not condemned as the story was made out.

Yours etc., Not so Irate Cloughmills man.Name and address supplied.
