The visitor centre at the Distillery has welcomed more than 120,000 visitors in 2006, making it one of Northern Ireland’s most popular attractions.
“It is particularly special to receive the award this year which sees us celebrating 400 years of whiskey-making at the Distillery,” continued Gordon, “And we have a range of events and initiatives to mark what is a very special year in our history.
“From the launch of our special limited edition commemorative whiskey – the 1608, to the special recognition of having Bushmills Distillery featured on the new Bank of Ireland bank notes we are truly making 2008 a memorable year. Our twinning programme with Louisville, Kentucky and our global advertising campaign, along with the host of international visitors joining our celebrations through participation on the Bushmills Trails are just some of the ways in which we are sharing the anniversary with Bushmills consumers across the globe.”
