The Old Bushmills Distillery hosted the launch of a new book published by Appletree Press celebrating the 400th anniversary of the original licence to distil granted to the Bushmills area in 1608.
Bushmills – 400 Years in the Making, published by Appletree Press, vividly portrays the history and heritage of the Old Bushmills Distillery and recounts the story of whiskey making in Ireland.

Irish whiskey writer Peter Mulryan retells the story of Bushmills and looks at what makes its whiskey such a long-standing success.
The roots of whiskey-making in the Bushmills area travel so deep that the book goes back to the very origins of distilling in Ireland, a few hundred years prior to the famous 1608 licence, then spans the four centuries from this key milestone.

The book contains previously unseen photographs and material from the Old Bushmills Distillery.
It also features many of the long serving people who together make Bushmills Irish whiskey one of the finest whiskies in the world.
Bushmills – 400 Years in the Making is published by Appletree Press and is on sale at all good bookshops priced £17.99 / €25.00.

The book is also available from the Distillery's visitor centre in Co. Antrim and via its online store at www.bushmillsshop.co.uk
