Worcester Vase makes £3400 at McAfee Auctions

A signed Worcester hand painted vase achieved the top price at McAfee Auctions Ceramic Sale last Friday night when it realised £3400 against active international bidding ending up going to a local collector.
The superbly painted lidded two handled vase was always earmarked as the quality lot by auctioneer Gerry McAfee, and attracted amazing interest. Other signed pieces also did well with prices realised £2300, £1500, £1500, £975, £600 and £425.

g international interest and English interest was also created by the large selection of Moorcroft, although again most of the special pieces remained in the province. A pair of Moorcroft vases realised £1050, another £675, a large Vase £950, a circular dish £470, Comport £275, and an unusual two handled comport £190.
Other pieces in the sale include a selection of Royal Dux, £500, £240, £320, £290, £280 and £260, Two Crown Derby Teapots £280, Crown Derby Coffee Can Set £180, Pair of Royal Dux Bookends £270, Selection of Worcester Pots £280, £240, £210 and £200, Pair of Worcester Vases £300, Pair of Worcester Bowls £280, Pair of Painted 'Fruit' Plates £470, Matching Vases £320, Large Hummell Figurines £440 and £280, Small Belleek Basket £140, Pair of Noritake Vases £260.
Other Items in the sale include a Georgian Chest £1050, Pair of Inlaid Cabinets £680, Mirror Backed Sideboard £460, Longcase Clock £800, Two Double Weight Vienna Clocks £420 and £450, Silver Bowl £600, Crystal and Glass Claret Jug £470, Selection of G W Morrison watercolours £260, £270, £280, £285, £330 & £335. Three Liam Reilly Oils achieved £290 £300 and £310. Three oil Lamps realised £480, £470 and £220, Wake Table £330, Open Armchair £165, Gilt Mounted Display Cabinets £400, Jug and Basin Sets £180, Brass Clock Set £75, Inlaid Mantle Clock £220.
