BALLINTOY Band was formed as early as 1912 when it was known as Ballintoy Flute Band.
However, during the First World War many members were called away to active service and numbers became depleted.

The Band was reformed in 1922 and affiliated to Ballintoy LOL 803.
It's main function was to lead the Lodge in the main annual demonstrations and down the years this has been their chief priority.

It was proposed in 1957 that although the band status remains the same, the instruments should change and after a number of fund raising events, accordions were brought to replace the flutes.

Ballintoy Accordion Band was dedicated on June 20 1958 and attended its first 12th July demonstration in Rasharkin the same year.
The Band will be holding a dinner dance on Friday, June 13 to celebrate their 50 years.

This event will be held in the Royal Court Hotel, Portrush with entertainment by the ever popular Barry Thompson.
Tickets priced at £20 can be obtained by contacting any Band member or telephoning Mark Heaney on 07743784000/028 70825653.
