LORRAINE Mooney, dispenser with Kennedy's Pharmacy, Rasharkin has recently successfully completed her Accredited Checking Technician Qualification.
When asked about her recent success, Lorraine said: “I am delighted to have successfully completed my ACT course. It was a tough qualification to achieve as, amongst other things, I had to complete a 1,000 item dispensing log and go through a series of three interviews. I am really looking forward to putting my qualification into practice in the pharmacy. The hard work has been well worth it”.

Lorraine’s tutor, pharmacist, Julie Ritchie added: “Lorraine was an ideal student, very committed to her course and to her work. Although it is a very difficult qualification to achieve, Lorraine worked extremely hard and fully deserves her success. Lorraine will now be able to take some of the workload from myself and Patrick as pharmacists and this will allow us to further develop our existing services such as Minor Ailments, Smoking Cessation and Medicines Management. Lorraine’s new role has also allowed us to launch our exciting new services, Weight Management and Health Checks.

“Indeed, there has been substantial interest in the Weight Management Programme as it focuses on sustainable weight loss coupled with positive health outcomes such as lowered Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose levels for the participants”.
