THREE local women were among 25 volunteers honoured at the Actively Older Leadership Awards in Belfast .
The awards signified the completion of the Actively Older training programme, part of a community health initiative to promote physical activity among older people, managed by Age Concern Help the Aged NI in partnership with the Health Promotion Agency for Northern Ireland and funded by Big Lottery.
Stephanie Hunter from Rasharkin, Georgina Wilkinson from Portballintrae and Isobel Fleming from Ballymoney completed their training in chair-based activity or dance leadership and are now fully committed to bringing their training to life for older people.
Stephanie said: "I've really enjoyed the Actively Older programme and we're all looking forward to putting our learning into practice to ensure that older people have access to safe, fun opportunities to grow."
