ANOTHER very productive and successful year will come to an end next Tuesday (6th May) when the Glebeside Community Association hold their Annual General Meeting in the Glebeside Community House in Belford Park, Ballymoney at 7.30pm sharp.
The meeting will be an opportunity for the community to look back at the many achievements of the various user groups under the Associations umbrella.
Iain McAfee Community Development Officer with the Association has appealed for the Glebe commu
nity to turn out in force.
"This meeting will give us all an opportunity to reflect on the past year. Clearly we have much to be proud of. The Community Association committee and other volunteers have worked extremely hard throughout the year, sometimes without recognition. The Annual General Meeting will highlight this work," he said.
Guest speaker at the meeting will be Mervyn Storey MLA and the event will also see the Community Survey prize draw and the launch of the Glebeside Youth DVD project.
Iain added: "Over the past month or so, the community in Glebeside has received a copy of our new Community Survey. The Survey gives all residents of the estate an opportunity to express their views on a wide range of issues.
"So far we have received an excellent response and residents have responded very constructively. The results will be crucial to what goes into the next Community Action Plan which will come into operation next year. Obviously if someone does not respond, their views will be excluded."
Anyone who returns their survey before the meeting next Tuesday will be entered into a prize draw.
Iain encouraged residents of the estate to come along to the meeting and find out what the Association has been doing over the past year. He also said that if a member of the community felt that something was not being done, the 6th would provide the perfect chance to discuss this.
He concluded: "The Glebeside Community Association is here to represent the views and wishes of the Glebeside estate. Without the residents input this is not possible."
Invitations are being posted through every letter box in the estate and light refreshments would be provided on the evening.
