Finvoy Young Farmers¹ Club are working hard in preparation for their summer challenge on the River Bann.
On Saturday 28th June members will begin their charity paddle starting at Toome and will row 26 miles to Drumaheglis Marina. All the money raised will go towards the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (C.R.Y).

Since the club launched their ambitious challenge in November 2007, they have had a lot of interest in the event and a lot of people wanting to find out about the charity.

In the UK each week, 8 apparently fit and healthy young people die from undiagnosed heart conditions. C.R.Y is an organisation founded in 1995 to research young people with sudden cardiac syndrome.

The clubs Charity event coincides with a CRY screening unit in Northern Ireland at Jordanstown from 27th 29th June 2008. Further information can be found on the CRY website www.c.r.y.uk.

If you would like to support the club in their Marathon Paddle, you can donate to any club member, or be in the towns of Toome, Portglenone, Kilrea or Ballymoney on Saturday 28th June where members will be passing through on their way to meet up with those who have covered 26 miles of the River Bann.

The club would like to thank those who have already donated and especially the local businesses who have given their support to the appeal and staff at Woodhall who have helped members prepare for the event.
