A 'GOOD Relations' project involving a number of council areas including Moyle and Ballymoney aims to bring together a number of people from diverse groups into the same room.
The Northern Regional Forum of Good Relations Officers is planning their annual joint project for a date in September.

Entitled ‘Cafe Culture’ the one day event will provide an informal cafe style environment designed to stimulate conversation between people from diverse backgrounds on a range of Good Relations Issues.

Participants will have the opportunity to talk to a number of individuals representing a variety of cultural, racial or political perspectives and engage with individuals they might not normally have the opportunity to meet.

A report prepared for Moyle Council said: ‘Those involved in the dialogue will include: travellers, loyal orders, world religions, victims/survivors, remembrance, PSNI/security forces, human rights, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups, migrant workers/ethnic minorities, ex-combatants, Ancient Order of Hibernians.

‘The outcome of the event is to have engaged with difference respectfully and to broaden understanding among participants of different viewpoints and believes which exist in communities,’ said the report.
