£8865.51 additional funding for Council

BALLYMONEY Borough Council has agreed to accept additional funding of £8865.51 and use it to draw up a new Community Support Plan jointly with the Causeway Cluster Councils and to provide training for the new management Committees of the Community Centres.

During a recent Leisure and Amenities Committee meeting, members heard: ‘The Department for Social Development has advised that additional funding of £1m is available in 2012/13.

‘The Council has been offered £8865.51. The money does not have to be matched but has to be expended by 31st March 2013.

‘It is recommended that Council accept the additional funding and use it to draw up a new Community Support Plan jointly with the Causeway Cluster Councils and to provide training for the new management Committees of the Community Centres.”

It was proposed by Cllr Evelyne Robinson, seconded by Cllr Ian Stevenson that Council accept the additional funding of £8865.51 and use it to draw up a new Community Support Plan jointly with the Causeway Cluster Councils and to provide training for the new management Committees of the Community Centres.
