THE Order of St. John, which is the parent company of first aid charity St. John Ambulance, celebrated years of voluntary service at its annual Service of Commemoration and re-dedication at St. Anne's Cathedral.
Hundreds of volunteers and friends of St. John renewed their commitment to the Mission of the charity and remembered those lost through death during the year within a service conducted by the Right Reverend Gordon McMullan, a chaplain of the Order.
During the service, the Bishop of Connor dedicated a St. John Window within the cathedral that was installed to mark years of voluntary first aid service and charitable work delivered through St. John Ambulance within Northern Ireland and the Order's Eye Hospital in Jerusalem.
The Dean of St. Anne's Cathedral and the Administrator of St. Peter's Cathedral also participated in the ceremony, celebrating the diverse membership and work of the charity.
Volunteer Gladys Mallon from Ballymoney was present at the ceremony.
