SEVENTY-five men, women and children (not forgetting a few dogs) completed a three mile sponsored walk which took place during the beautiful, sunny evening of Saturday, June 6.
Recognisable in their brightly coloured yellow t-shirts, the walkers made their way from the church car park on the Garryduff Road, taking a scenic tour of the town and finishing back at the Church Hall - around an hour later for some tasty burgers and refreshments.
There was a great sense of fun and fellowship throughout the evening as everyone from the youngest child to the oldest senior citizen walked together to raise over £4,000 for missionary outreach work in Northern Kenya.
Pastor Jonathan Payne along with others from the church will be travelling to Kenya this August with Evangelist Richard Gunning of Reach the Unreach Ministries.
They will be ministering at a Pastor's Conference in Meru and are planning to transport aid, including food and much needed medical supplies to families in very poor remote areas.
This will be Pastor Jonathan's third visit to Kenya in recent years and he is looking forward to once again working alongside Pastor Peter Karangu and his team at RTU Ministries based in Meru.
Pastor Jonathan stated:"£4,000 is a wonderful achievement and will make a real difference to many lives in this part if Kenya.
"Many thanks to everyone who took part and also to those who gave money for generously."
