A LOCAL lady is our June worthy winner of the Bouquet of the Month, thanks to her best friend Kellyanne Allen and Blooms Florist in Ballymoney.
Natasha McVicker has had an extremely tough year since her husband was severely injured in a motorbike accident in May 2008.
In an emotional letter to the Times, one of her closest friends, Kellyanne explained: "I am emailing you in reference to the bouquet of the month. I know of someone very special to me that is more than deserving of a lovely surprise of a bouquet. Well in my eyes she deserves more than a bouquet of flowers.
"One of my closest friends, Natasha Mcvicker, has gone through a really tough year. Her husband Ricky headed out to work on Wednesday 21st May 2008 on his motorbike when he was involved in a very serious road accident. That morning he helped Natasha get their two children Paris Rose now 7 and Noah, 3 ready for school and gave them all a kiss and little did they know what was to happen a few minutes later.
"I got the phone call to say that Ricky was in a serious condition, and all I could do was worry, and although a couple of weeks later he came around, things have never been the same for the family. Ricky is now confined to a wheelchair, however he doesn't let it get to him too much.
"Natasha has since been running the house, working hard in her job and taking care of their two children. She holds her head high and gets on with it with out a complaint. However sometimes, as any normal person would, she does get a bit down and needs a good pick up.
"The whole family have been doing extremely well and doing as much stuff as they can - despite not being able to do all the things they used to.
"They are an amazing couple and I do think that Natasha really deserves a lovely surprise like this."
