MRS May Gage, from Lavin, Cloughmills, is our festive worthy winner of the Bouquet of the Month thanks to her daughter.
In an emotional letter to the Times, May's daughter Margaret Downey wrote: "I woud like to nominate my mother Mrs May Gage for the Bouquet of the month.

"My mother was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease back in April and with this needed chemotherapy. She was admitted to hospital and was in intensive care for a week.

"At this time it was very distressing for her and for all our family as we didn't know what to expect. My brother lives in America and at that time ha had to come home.

"My mother is a lovely lady and very outgoing, enjoys all the functions from Band parades to bowling, PWA outings etc and her wee trips into the town everyday.

"If there was an outing or concert mentioned Mammy would be ready in five minutes, but she wasn't able to attend anything this year.
"At present she has just finished radiotherapy and is coping well with it. She still feels tired and weak at times but hopefully she will gain full recovery as to what she was.

"I thought if she would be nominated for Bouquet of the Month it would lift her spirit."
